Prize distribution ceremony of Siporiya HS held

BISWANATH CHARIALI, Dec 4: The 53rd annual conference and prize distribution ceremony of Siporiya HS, one of the premier educational institutions of the greater south Sootea area, was held on Tuesday with a day-long programme. The programme began with the inauguration of the wall magazine by Prasanna Bora, a retired headmaster of the school. The open session was held with Moti Kumar Newar, president of the School Management and Development Committee (SMDC), in the chair. The open session began with a chorus, followed by a briefing on the objectives of the meeting by Ram Prasad Upadhayay, headmaster of the school.

Sootea MLA Padma Hazarika graced the event as the chief guest. Addressing the students, he appealed to them to study hard to attain success. He announced a financial grant of Rs 10 lakhs for the construction of a boundary wall for the school playground. The open session was also addressed by Dr Parag Jyoti Hazarika, assistant headmaster of Chatia Gyan Vikash Academy, as the appointed speaker. The meeting was further addressed by Dal Mohan Chetry, a retired headmaster of the school, as a distinguished guest.
