MARGHERITA, Dec 3: The All Assam Health and Technical Welfare Association, National Health Mission (AAHTWA, NHM), on Tuesday, protested across public health centers in Assam for their various demands. Under their instruction, employees of the Jagun Mini Primary Health Centre, under Ketetong Block of Margherita co-district, staged a protest during their duty hours by wearing black badges.
Nihar Ranjan Chetia, a laboratory technician at Jagun Mini Primary Health Centre, said, “Despite working for many years, our jobs have not been regularised. Yet, we continue to provide services to all the patients who visit Jagun MPHC regularly.”
“Our main demands are the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission for payment, compliance with the Supreme Court’s judgment of equal pay for equal work, provision of all facilities available to regular employees of the government of Assam, and permanent appointment of National Health Mission workers through a special recruitment process. This includes creating various vacant posts of health workers in the health department of the government of Assam and establishing new posts in newly established health centers in Assam,” said Nihar Ranjan Chetia.
