Rangapara College Celebrates 44th Foundation Day

TEZPUR, Aug 17: 
Rangapara College, one of the pioneer institutes of higher education in Sonitpur district celebrated its 44th foundation day on Tuesday. At the very outset of the day-long programme, a rich tribute was paid to Mahidhar Dutta, founder principal of the college by the family members, faculties and the non-teaching staff of the college. The celebration started with the inauguration of the college anthem by one of the famous lyricists of the region Bankim Sarma and written by Dr Ranendra Mohan Deka, vice principal of the college and tuned by Niku Chetia, assistant professor, department of English of the college. The meeting held for the occasion was presided over by Dr Charu Saharia Nath, president, Governing Body of the college and Dr Ranjan Kalita, principal, Rangapara College welcomed the guests who were present for the occasion. Dr Biren Das, registrar, Tezpur University joined the celebration as the chief guest and Krishna Kamal Tanti, MLA, Rangapara constituency as the special guest. Dr Biren Das appreciated the initiative taken by the college and assured to extend whole hearted cooperation from the end of Tezpur University towards the upliftment of the academic atmosphere of the college.
The whole session was moderated by Prasanta Boro, assistant professor, department of Bodo of the college while Munin Baishya, senior faculty of Commerce department of the college offered vote of thanks. Academic awards to the faculties and the employees were also conferred during the programme.
