SIVASAGAR, May 19: The Management & Development Committee of Fuleswari Girls’ HS School organised a meeting on Saturday, bringing together parents and guardians of nearly one thousand students to discuss their increasing responsibilities in light of the New Education Policy 2020.
Addressing the gathering, Manoj Kumar Borthakur, president of the SMDC, emphasised the importance of providing greater attention, love, and inspiration to adolescent girls at home to help them cope with the increasing workload and stress. He highlighted the limited time teachers have to interact with students and urged parents to communicate with their children about their inner feelings, fears, and anxieties.
Pranob Baruah, principal of Fuleswari Girls’ HS School, addressed the challenges faced by the school and called upon the guardians to extend their support. He mentioned the burden imposed by the new pre-paid electricity billing system, which requires the school to spend approximately Rs 10,000 per month on electricity.
Prasanta Sarmah, a noted cultural worker and distinguished teacher, urged parents to ensure their wards attend school regularly. He emphasised that absenteeism hinders students’ ability to keep up with classroom activities and can lead to the development of an inferiority complex.
Several guardians, including Rajibuddin Ahmed, Firoj Ahmed, Firoj Ali, and Rasmirekha Chutia, commended the initiative taken by the SMDC. They pledged their continued support to the school authorities in all activities.
