GUWAHATI, Feb 8: In a gathering held at the Guwahati Press Club, two books authored by senior journalist and writer Bijoy Lakshmi Baruah were unveiled on Thursday. The books titled ‘Sangbad, Sangbadikiata Aru Sangbadik’ and ‘Mukhar Aarar Mukh’ were introduced amidst esteemed guests and fellow journalists.
Baruah, while elucidating the contents of her books, emphasised the increasing significance of the media in contemporary society. She highlighted the crucial role of journalists and stated that her works are intended to benefit individuals engaged in journalism and social life alike.
Renowned writer Hrishikesh Goswami, who released the books, praised Baruah’s insightful articles, noting their relevance for aspiring journalists. He commended her ability to address pertinent issues in her writings.
Nitumoni Saikia, a senior journalist from Pratidin Times, expressed his belief that Baruah’s book ‘Sangbad, Sangbadikiata Aru Sangbadik’ would be immensely beneficial for young journalists. He shared personal anecdotes from his experiences in the field, further highlighting the practical value of Baruah’s work.
The event was graced by the presence of prominent writer Swapnanil Barua, who offered words of encouragement. Several esteemed journalists attended the gathering, enriching the occasion with their presence.
Paramesh Dulta presided over the meeting, while Dhira Hazarika, the first lady pilot of Assam, also honoured the event with her presence.
