Sibsagar Commerce College hosts fashion show

SIVASAGAR, May 21: ‘Rangman – Rangdhali’, a glamorous fashion show, was held at Sibsagar Commerce College on Saturday. Organised by the HRM and Marketing department in association with the ‘Porcupine’ group and Enajori Event, the fashion show was enjoyed by a large crowd, including the students of the college. The show, which started with a felicitation to Dr Saumarjyoti Mahanta (principal of the college), was inaugurated by Basanta Gogoi, president of ATASU. The chief guest, Paban Borkakoty, a well-known entrepreneur, along with Dr Ratul Sarmah, vice principal of the college, Dr Pradip Gogoi, head of the HRM and Marketing department, and Dr Ratul Dutta, associate professor of the HRM and Marketing department, spoke inspiring words to the participants.

The program was managed by a group of students from the event management department. The main motive of the competition is to focus on the students’ leadership quality and how to conduct an event without hassles. Dr Saumarjyoti Mahanta, in his speech, said that programs like this encourage parents as well as their children to showcase their talents before the entire globe. Nimaijan Bihu Husori Dol was the center of attraction in the program.

In the senior category, Priyampee Phukan from Simluguri was the winner, with Krishnakhi Phukan from Amguri as the 1st runner up, and Akhashri Kashyap from Jorhat as the 2nd runner up. In the junior category (male), Rituraj Changmai was the winner, followed by Dibyansh Gogoi as the 1st runner up and Anshuman Kumar as the 2nd runner up. In the junior category (female), Snigdha Junak Ojah was the winner, with Yani Dowari as the 1st runner up and Amishi Mili as the 2nd runner up.

The program was sponsored by a number of reputed business organisations. Assistant professor Priyam Borgohain and Alisha Begum (student) were the anchors of the program.
