According to sources, Akand had threatened to publish a news article on Rahman’s alleged involvement with a cattle smuggling racket unless he paid Rs 50,000.
Rahman in this regard, filed a complaint at Nagaon Sadar Police Station, leading to Akand’s arrest under sections 1096/24 and 61(2)/308(2)/35(2) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanghita.
