TEZPUR, April 21: Noted teacher and Asam Sahitya Sabha central body member Biswajit Boro urged the Bodo community people to stand united and work in a holistic way for the survival of their language, culture, tradition and heritages to stand as a perfect nation. The noted litterateur who graced a cultural function inauguration event organised in connection with the Rangjali Bwisagw celebration by West Tezpur Anchalick ABSU at Bandarmari near here on Wednesday evening in his speech also mentioned that Bodos who show a variety in tradition, culture, dresses, and exotic way of life is also presently seen facing challenges. “Now-a-days it is seen that taking advantage of the simplicity of the Bodo or other tribal people, some companies with their vested interest spread their products in the market which has put a direct impact on these culturally rich communities. Now traditional attire of the Bodo community like aronai, gamosa or the dokhona are considered as symbols of dignity. These are now supplied from outside and are of cheap quality. It has hijacked our culture, economy and the potentiality of our womenfolk. So it is a big challenge and to defy it we will have to stand united and save the nation through an organised and disciplined cultural and intellectual movement,” Biswajit Boro said.
