TEZPUR, Jan 13: Tezpur University played host to a 10-day special National Cadet Corps (NCC) Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) camp, commencing on January 3, 2024. The camp aimed to nurture unity, diversity, and a sense of service to the nation among the participating NCC cadets.
A total of 600 NCC cadets from different parts of the country, including Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, actively participated in the camp.
The NCC Northeast Camp, also known as Uttar Purab Camp, featured various activities such as motivational lectures, team-building exercises, and an exploration of the diverse cultures within the region.
The chief guest at the concluding event on Friday, was Prof Shambhu Nath Singh, vice-chancellor of Tezpur University. Expressing his satisfaction at hosting the camp, Prof Singh stated the university’s commitment to holistic development, where NCC plays a crucial role in instilling values vital for the overall growth of the youth.
Prof Singh elaborated on the concept of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’, highlighting the beauty of India’s unparalleled diversity. He emphasised that India’s strength lies in its ability to embrace and celebrate diversity, standing united as a nation.
The concluding ceremony featured NCC cadets showcasing various cultural programs, enhancing camaraderie among the participants.
Brigadier SS Gill, Group Commander, Tezpur Group, Col N Abraham, Commanding Officer, 5 Assam bn NCC Tezpur, Col Anup Ralegaonkar, Commanding Officer, 71 NCC Girls Bn, and Lt Col Anjan Baruah, Adm Officer 5 Assam bn NCC, were present during the occasion.
