SIVASAGAR, Feb 10: The Assam Tea Employees Provident Fund Organization (ATEPFO), Sivasagar zonal office, under the state labour department organized a training cum awareness programme on e-NIDHI at the Assam Chah Majdur Sangha(ACMS) conference hall in Sonari in Sivasagar district.
The programme was designed exclusively for the tea garden employees of the state. Over 200 representatives from the tea gardens of the Charaideo district besides the officials of the ACMS, factories and Asom Chah Karmachari Sangha( ACKS), Sonari circle attended the programme.
Deputy provident fund commissioner of Sivasagar Someswar Barhoi, fund control officer Rupjyoti Tanti, in-charge of Sonari Inspectorate Office, Pitambar Lodhi and officials of ATEPFO imparted training on how to use the application during the training programme. The operation of the e-NIDHI application was demonstrated by resource persons by using the user credentials of a few PF members.
Through the app, the tea garden employees of the state will be able to avail of various PF-related services like obtaining an e-passbook, checking PF balance, obtaining individual receipts, checking PF claim status etc, with the help of a smart phone. The app was launched by the state labour minister Sanjoy Kishan on Jan 5 at Silchar in Cachar district.
