GUWAHATI, June 12: The district transport department of Kamrup Metro, along with other districts in the state, launched special initiatives on Monday to collect outstanding vehicle taxes in the district. The department aims to create public awareness among vehicle owners regarding the payment of taxes, with June 30, 2023 set as the deadline for clearing outstanding dues. To spread this information, leaflets are being distributed at various locations throughout the district.
It is important to note that failure to pay taxes on time will result in penalties and fines. Additionally, non-payment may lead to the cancellation of vehicle registration. Gautam Das, the assistant transport commissioner and district transport officer, has made a humble appeal to all vehicle owners in the district to pay their taxes promptly. This appeal emphasizes the significance of contributing to the development of the state and strengthening the transport system as responsible citizens.
