Two Arrested In Connection With Jorhat Grenade Blast

JORHAT, Dec 28: In a significant development, two persons have been arrested on Thursday in connection with the grenade blast at the Lichubari 41 sub area military station in Jorhat on December 14, said an official.

Jorhat superintendent of police (SP), ML Meena, confirmed that both suspects were apprehended, and their motorcycle, believed to be involved in the incident, has been seized.

Meena further stated that the interrogation of the two detainees is currently underway, and additional names and details pertaining to the case will be disclosed tomorrow.

The breakthrough in the investigation was credited to the assistance of CCTV footage and other crucial pieces of evidence, aiding law enforcement in identifying and arresting the individuals responsible.

“CCTV footage and other evidence helped in the apprehension of the duo,” the SP added.

The SP further revealed that one of the arrested individuals was the rider of the motorcycle, while the other, riding pillion, was directly involved in lobbing the grenade at the military station.
