HAFLONG, Aug 21: The public in Dima Hasao district has expressed an urgent need for a marriage officer in the region. The unfilled position of marriage officer in Dima Hasao district has caused inconvenience for a prolonged period. The role of marriage officer in the district has remained vacant since the transfer of the previous officer. This vacancy has resulted in challenges for residents of Dima Hasao district who wish to register their marriages, a process that has become essential for both service members and the general public.
In light of the difficulties faced by the people of Dima Hasao district, advocate Sumit Das has made an appeal through the district commissioner of Dima Hasao district to the secretary of the government of Assam, personal department in Dispur, Guwahati. The appeal requests that necessary actions be taken to promptly assign a marriage officer for the convenience of the general public seeking marriage certificates after formal registration.
Advocate Das has further suggested that the responsibility of marriage officer be entrusted to one of the ACS (Assam Civil Service) officers within Dima Hasao district as soon as possible. This step is aimed at restoring the marriage registration process in Dima Hasao district for the benefit of its residents.
