Wild elephant attack in West Karbi Anglong

KHERONI, May 19: Tragedy struck in West Karbi Anglong on Saturday evening as a man fell victim to a wild elephant attack. The deceased, identified as Ramjit Chauhan, a resident of Hawaipur Bhetapara, was walking home from the market when he was suddenly attacked by a wild elephant. Another individual narrowly escaped a similar fate after being chased by the pachyderm.

Forest officials from the Southern Range in Kheroni are currently assessing the situation.
