World Heritage Day Observed At Rang Ghar

GUWAHATI, April 19: Archaeological Survey of India, Guwahati Circle celebrated the World Heritage Day at the historical monument Rang Ghar in Sivasagar on Monday. On this occasion several programmes were organised.

A heritage walk was organised from Talatal Ghar to Rang Ghar with active participation of students and teachers from nearby schools. A photo exhibition was also organised showcasing the world heritage monuments and sites as well as the monuments of Northeast India. Digital Jyoti standees having QR code link were placed at suitable locations to offer the tributes to martyrs on the occasion of celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. A swachhata programme was also undertaken at the monuments.

The World Heritage Day is celebrated keeping in view the significance of preservation of cultural heritage.
