Uttar Guwahati Sahitya Sabha concludes

GUWAHATI, March 30: The biennial session of the Uttar Guwahati Sahitya Sabha (Swarn Shakha) was held on Sunday, at the meeting hall of the Shri Shri Doulgovinda Temple Management Committee’s auditorium. The session commenced at 10 am and was presided over by outgoing president Banti Bora Dutta. Secretary Kamal Bora presented the agenda and financial report, following which the outgoing committee resigned.

In the presence of Kamrup Zila Sahitya Sabha Vice President Ramesh Medhi, serving as the observer on behalf of the Assam Sahitya Sabha, a new executive committee was unanimously elected. Ramen Nath was elected as the president, while Jayanta Kumar Nath and Arundhati Sharma were chosen as vice presidents. Kamal Bora retained his position as secretary, with Rajiv Sharma and Usha Devi elected as joint secretaries.

Additionally, Gaurikanta Kakati and Muhiteshwar Goswami were nominated as representatives from the Uttar Guwahati Sahitya Sabha to the Kamrup Zila Sahitya Sabha.

This biennial session marks a new chapter in the glorious journey of the Uttar Guwahati Sahitya Sabha.

A special open session was also held in the evening, attended by Kamrup Zila Sahitya Sabha President Ganesh Saharia as the chief guest and Kamrup Sahitya Sabha Secretary Rajani Saloi as a distinguished guest. More than two hundred literature enthusiasts from Uttar Guwahati participated in this session, during which two books were officially released.
