New Delhi, April 8: The Indian National Congress (INC) and National Conference (NC) revealed their seat-sharing agreement for five constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir, as well as one in Ladakh, in a joint press conference on Monday.
The announcement came from senior Congress leader and former union minister Salman Khurshid, National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah, and Congress leader Pawan Khera.
As per the agreement, the Congress will contest from Jammu, Udhampur, and Ladakh, while the National Conference will contest from Anantnag-Rajouri, Srinagar, and Baramulla. The Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) will jointly fight the elections in all six constituencies.
The candidates for Udhampur, Jammu and Anantnag-Rajouri have been announced, with the candidates for Srinagar, Baramulla and Ladakh to be announced soon.
Abdullah expressed confidence that INDIA will win all six constituencies of the former Jammu and Kashmir state, which includes Ladakh, now a separate union territory.
