New Delhi, Jan 16: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Delhi, warning of very dense fog and cold wave conditions on Wednesday and Thursday.
A red alert has been issued for Punjab and Haryana for similar conditions on Wednesday, followed by an orange alert on Thursday. An advisory by IMD, applicable to Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, north Rajasthan and north Madhya Pradesh, warns that the fog may disrupt airports, highways, and railways.
The advisory also cautions that driving conditions could become difficult, leading to slower journey times and potential road traffic collisions, unless precautionary measures are taken.
