New Delhi, Feb 10: The Haryana government, led by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, declared the suspension of mobile internet, bulk SMS, and all dongle services in various districts until February 13, anticipating the farmers’ ‘Delhi Chalo’ march scheduled for that day.
This decision affects districts such as Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind, Hisar, Fatehabad, and Sirsa. Over 200 farmers’ unions, including the Samyukta Kisan Morcha and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, are part of this march.
Their aim is to pressurise the central government to enact a law guaranteeing a minimum support price (MSP) for crops. As per the Haryana administration’s notification, all dongle services and bulk SMS provided on mobile networks, excluding voice calls, will be suspended from 6 am on February 11 until 11:59 pm on February 13.
Preparations are in progress to secure the Punjab-Haryana borders in Ambala, Jind, and Fatehabad districts, with barricading by Haryana police and local administration in Ambala, in light of the farmers’ march to Delhi.
