President Ram Nath Kovind, Governor Mukhi, Assam CM, CM Patowary Extend Eid Greetings

Guwahati, May 2: President Ram Nath Kovind on Monday greeted fellow citizens on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr and said that this festival inspires people to strive for building a harmonious, peaceful and prosperous society.

During the holy month of Ramzan, devotees observe Roza and offer special prayers, he said.

On the auspicious occasion of Eid, let us resolve to rededicate ourselves to the service of humanity and to improve the lives of the poor and needy, the President said.

Meanwhile, Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi conveyed his greetings to the people of Assam on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

In his message to the people, the Governor said, “I extend my heartiest greetings on this holy occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. It is a ‘festival of breaking fast’ and marks the culmination of the holy month of Ramadan. May we all be blessed with a renewed spirit of love and oneness for all. I wish the Almighty shower his choicest blessings upon us all on this auspicious day.”

Wishing the Muslim community on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, chief minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma in a statement here on Monday, said, “On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, I extend my heartfelt greetings to the people belonging to Muslim community. As the festival follows the end of fasting month Ramadan ends, I take the pleasure to greet all my Muslim brothers and sisters on this pious festival. On this occasion may I call upon everybody that following the true spirit of the festival, we should all work for the prosperity of our state and promotion of peace and harmony in our society. May the pious ideas associated with the festival enrich us with friendship, brotherhood, peace, prosperity, love and affection.”

Moreover, Industries and Commerce minister Chandra Mohan Patowary has extended warm greetings to the people of Assam on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

In a statement, the minister said, “Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. May this festival strengthen love, compassion, friendship and brotherhood among the people of Assam and usher in peace and prosperity to our state.” (With inputs from PTI)
