Morigaon, Aug 9: The Morigaon District open chess tournament which commenced from August 6 at Morigaon H.S & M.P school concluded on Tuesday.
The tournament was organized by Morigaon District Chess Association. Kaushik Barua won the open chess tournament defeating Sanjib Kr. Nath. The winner Kaushik Barua won the tournament by winning all games of 8 rounds.
On the other hand, Kamal Deka (7points) got 1st position, Mithu Nath(7 points) got 3rd position and Anil Kr. Bhatacharya (6.5 points) bagged 3rd position in the state level selection competition in the tournament.
Earlier the open chess tournament was inaugurated by the principal of Morigaon H.S.& M.PÂ school Dibyajyoti Tamuli on August 6.
