Curd Rice

It is a one-bowl rice dish that is easy to digest and makes for a filling meal. To make this, you need curd, rice, cucumber, pomegranate seeds, salt, pepper, and a tempering of oil, mustard seeds, dried red chilli, and curry leaves.

Rasam with Red Rice 

It is also a comforting one-bowl dish, where steamed red rice is mixed with tomato rasam, which is made with tomato puree, cooked along with a tempering of oil, curry leaves, and mustard seeds, and a special rasam masala.

Idli with Sambar 

This is one of the most popular dishes of South Indian cuisine, and includes steamed discs made with rice and fenugreek seeds and are served with protein-rich sambar.

Pongal 

Pongal refers to a warm, soft dish made with rice and moong dal, tempered with black pepper, ginger, and ghee.

Idiyappam refers to soft rice noodles which are served with a mild coconut-based vegetable stew.

Paniyaram and Chutney 

These are mini balls of nutrition, made with sooji, curd, veggies, and are cooked on a special paniyaram pan and are best served with green chutney.

Ragi Mudde and Sambar 

These are soft steamed finger millet balls, seasoned with salt and served with protein-rich sambar.

Millet Dosa 

It refers to crispy dosa made with foxtail millet or ragi, high in fiber and easy to digest. It is best served with coconut chutney and vegetable sambar on the side.
