Animals That Don't Sleep

Bullfrog

Bullfrogs are able to stay awake for long periods of time during the breeding season in order to protect their eggs  and tadpoles. 

Dolphins

Dolphins are known to sleep with one eye open, as they need to come to the  surface to breathe.

Giraffe

Giraffes only need between 10 minutes to 2 hours of sleep per day, and they usually nap standing up. 

Horses

Horses only need around 2 to 3 hours of sleep per day and often take naps while standing up. 

Jellyfish

Jellyfish do not have a brain and therefore do not sleep. They are able to survive without rest as long as they have access to food.

Sharks

Sharks are able to swim continuously without resting, and some species are  known to rest  while swimming. 

Elephants

Elephants only sleep for around 2 to 3 hours per  day and often nap  standing up.
