Bowlers Who Have Taken  Hat-Tricks In The ODI  World Cup​

Chetan Sharma (India - 1987)  

Chetan Sharma became the first bowler to take a hat-trick in Cricket World Cup history. He achieved this feat against New Zealand in the 1987 World Cup at Nagpur. He dismissed Ken Rutherford, Ian Smith, and Ewen Chatfield, clean bowling all three off consecutive deliveries. 

Saqlain Mushtaq (Pakistan - 1999) 

Pakistan’s spin-wizard, Saqlain Mushtaq recorded the second hat-trick in the ODI Cricket World Cup. He achieved this feat against Zimbabwe at The Oval in the 1999 WC. He dismissed Henry Olonga, Adam Huckle, and Pommie Mbangwa off successive deliveries. 

Chaminda Vaas (Sri Lanka - 2003) 

Chaminda Vaas took a hat-trick against Bangladesh in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa in the 2003 World Cup. He dismissed Hannan Sarkar, Mohammad Ashraful, and Ehsanul Haque off consecutive deliveries. Vaas holds the record for the best bowling figures by a Sri Lankan in an ODI World Cup match (6/25). 

Brett Lee (Australia - 2003) 

Brett Lee became the first Australian to record a hat-trick in the ODI World Cup. He accomplished this feat against Kenya in Durban during the 2003 World Cup. He dismissed Kennedy Otieno, Brijal Patel, and David Obuya off successive deliveries. 

Lasith Malinga  (Sri Lanka - 2007) 

Lasith Malinga is the only bowler to take two hat-tricks in ODI World Cup history. His first hat-trick was registered against South Africa in the 2007 World Cup. He dismissed Shaun Pollock, Andrew Hall and Jacques Kallis off consecutive deliveries. 

Kemar Roach (West Indies - 2011) 

Kemar Roach achieved a hat-trick against the Netherlands at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi in the 2011 edition. He dismissed Pieter Seelaar, Bernard Loots and Berend Westdijk off consecutive deliveries. This made him the first Caribbean bowler to take a hat-trick in the World Cup.

Lasith Malinga  (Sri Lanka - 2011)  

Malinga's second World Cup hat-trick was registered against Kenya in the 2011 edition. He dismissed Tanmay Mishra, Peter Ongondo and Shem Ngoche to seal his second World Cup hat-trick. 

Steven Finn (England - 2015) 

Finn became the first English Bowler to claim a hat-trick in World Cup history. The right arm fast bowler achieved this feat against Australia in the first match of the 2015 World Cup. Finn dismissed Brad Haddin, Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Johnson to claim the hat-trick. 

JP Duminy  (South Africa - 2015) 

Duminy became the second-spinner to get a hat-trick in the World Cup. Duminy achieved this feat against Sri Lanka in the Quarter-Finals of the 2015 World Cup. 

Mohammed Shami (India - 2019) 

Shami became the second Indian bowler after Chetan Sharma to record a hat-trick in the World Cup. He did this vs Afghanistan in a high-octane match of the 2019 edition. He took the wickets of Mohammad Nabi, Aftab Alam and Mujeeb Ur Rahman to finish off the game.
