Besan, also known as gram flour, is abundant in B-vitamins. These include Thiamine (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Pyridoxine and Folic acid (B9). These vitamins play a crucial role in various metabolic reactions within the body. They assist in converting carbohydrates, proteins and fats into energy.

Protein 

A 100-gram serving of besan provides 20 grams of protein, while the same quantity of whole wheat flour offers  12 grams.

Besan has more good fat than whole wheat flour. Most of the fat (about 70%) contained in besan are healthy unsaturated fats, which help to lower your cholesterol levels. 100 grams of besan has 5.6 grams of good fat while whole wheat flour has  only 1.7 grams

Besan is a beneficial food for diabetics due to its richness in complex carbohydrates and low glycemic index. This helps in controlling blood sugar levels. Furthermore, it is a valuable source of fiber, assisting in better digestion for diabetics.
