Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve

Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve is a very famous national park located in the Golaghat and Nagaon districts of the state of Assam, India. 

On 1 June 1905, an area of 232 square kilometres was made the Kaziranga Proposed Reserve Forest.

In 1968, the Assam National Park Act was passed and Kaziranga was declared a national park. 

On 11 February 1947, this  park got official recognition from the Indian government. 

There are two types of safaris, elephant safaris and jeep safaris available to tourists visiting Kaziranga National Park.

Safari timings in Kaziranga National Park from 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM or 1:30 PM to  4:00 PM. 

The best time to visit Kaziranga National Park is from November to April. Assam receives heavy rainfall during and before monsoon.
