Cherrapunji –  A Tourist Hub 

Cherrapunji, also known as Sohra, is a beautiful town in the state of Meghalaya, India. It is known for its stunning waterfalls, living root bridges, and breathtaking  natural scenery. 

Visit the Living Root Bridges 

The living root bridges are a unique feature of Cherrapunji, and can be found in the surrounding villages  of the town. 

Explore the waterfalls 

Go chase waterfalls when in Cherrapunji. Waterfalls like Nohkalikai Falls, Dainthlen Falls, and Kynrem Falls are the ones you should check out. 

Trek to Nongriat village 

Trekking is the way to reach Nongriat Village. It may  get slightly challenging  but the sights are  worth the pain. 

Visit Mawsmai Cave 

Mawsmai Cave is one of the most accessible and popular caves in Cherrapunji. It is known for its beautiful limestone formations and well-lit walkways. 

Do village tours 

Villages in Cherrapunji will leave you mighty impressed. You will be able to see the traditional Khasi style of living. Bamboo bridges connect every home and localities.

Visit Arwah Cave 

Arwah Cave is another must-visit cave in Cherrapunji. It is less crowded than Mawsmai Cave and offers a more adventurous experience. 

Explore Mawlynnong village 

Mawlynnong Village is one of the cleanest villages in Asia and is a short drive from Cherrapunji. The village is famous for its living root bridge and treehouses. 

Enjoy the local cuisine 

You can try some of the local dishes at the small eateries in the town. They will always have traditional Khasi  dishes for you.
