NAGAON, Oct 31: NABARD organised a Vigilance Awareness Programme (VAP) in Nagaon district, advocating the theme ‘Say No to Corruption; Commit to the Nation’. The integrity pledge was administered to participants from various NGOs, FPOs, and SHGs. The event took place in the premises of Naba Laokhowa Agro Producers Company Ltd. at Teromile, Laokhowa, promoted by NABARD in collaboration with Access Dev. Services.
Rajendar Perna, DDM-NABARD, emphasized how corruption acts as a significant impediment to the economic, political, and social progress of the country. He urged all stakeholders, including the government, citizens, and private sectors, to unite in eradicating corruption. Perna stressed the importance of maintaining the highest standards of honesty and encouraged support for the anti-corruption fight. Additionally, he administered the integrity pledge among all the participants.
Perna highlighted the ‘Ghar Ghar KCC Abhiyan (GGKA),’ currently underway in the district since October 1, 2023. This initiative, focused on financial inclusion, is set to continue until December 31, 2023, as per an official release.
NABARD’s initiatives in Nagaon are directed not only towards promoting vigilance but also emphasizing the importance of financial inclusion for the holistic development of the region.
