KOKRAJHAR, July 25: Pramod Boro, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), laid the foundation stone for the statue of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma at the Central Institute of Technology (CIT) campus in Kokrajhar on Friday.

The statue will be constructed under the initiative of the CIT Society at an estimated cost of ₹30 lakh, which will be funded by the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) government.

Speaking at the event, CEM Boro said the statue is being built to honour the legacy of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma—widely regarded as an iconic figure of the Bodo community—and to inspire future generations.

He reiterated the BTC government’s commitment to the development and welfare of all communities in the Bodoland region.

“Honouring our icons, empowering our future—I’m delighted to lay the foundation stone for the statue of revered Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma at CIT Kokrajhar,” Boro stated.

The ceremony was attended by Prof. Devendra Jalihal, Director (Additional Charge), CIT Kokrajhar, along with faculty members, senior officials, and dignitaries from the region.
