SVEEP cell to hold cycle rally in Diphu

DIPHU, April 21: The State Voter’s Electoral Education and Participation (SVEEP) cell will organise a cycle rally featuring the state icon Rakesh Banik, Para-cyclist on April 22.

The cycle rally, a collaborative effort by Diphu Election District, ASRLMS, ASNULMS, Women Justice Forum, Cyclist Association, NCC Diphu Government College, and Athletics Association and Karbi Anglong Sports Association (KASA), aims to engage and encourage citizens from various walks of life, including women, senior citizens, specially-abled individuals and daily wage labourers on the necessary to exercise their right to franchise.

The rally, which is expected to draw a crowd of over 300 participants, will commence from the district commissioner’s office here and proceed towards Diphu Market and culminate at the Gandhi Maidan. The event will kick off at 9 am from the DC office in the presence of district commissioner, Madhumita Bhagwati and Rakesh Banik.

At Gandhi Maidam, attendees will have the opportunity to interact with the state icon, Rakesh Banik, who will also deliver a speech along with Karbi Anglong district icon and mountaineer Khorsing Terang, who was honoured with the Assam Gaurav award by the state government. The SVEEP cell has urged all citizens to join in the rally to promote community engagement and social awareness through the medium of cycling.
