BISWANATH CHARIALI, Feb 7: On Wednesday, a team from the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam, apprehended Arafat Alom Bora, the lat mandal of Naduar Revenue Circle, Sootea, in Biswanath district, after he was caught red-handed accepting a bribe in the Office of the Circle Officer, Naduar Revenue Circle, for updating names in land records.
According to information, the apprehended lat mandal had demanded a sum of Rs 5 thousand from an individual for updating land records. He was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 2 thousand in cash at a hotel in front of the Revenue Circle Office. A team from Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam, trapped him.
The accused Lat mandal, Arafat Alom Bora, admitted his guilt during interrogation, as informed by one of the officials. The conscientious people of the greater Naduar area have welcomed the action taken against corrupt officials by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department.
