SIVASAGAR, March 24: Under the initiative of the Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ASRLM), Sivasagar, and with the collaboration of “Sa-Dhan,” a Loan Mela and NPA Recovery Mela were organised at the the Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission Office bringing together various Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and their members.
A total of 546 Self-Help Groups were granted loan sanction letters amounting to Rs 22 crore 20 lakh 40 thousand at the Loan mela.
Additionally, individual loans totaling up to Rs 2 crore 3 lakh 78 thousand were sanctioned to 132 women entrepreneurs.
The program was graced by the presence of Sulabha Dev, lead bank officer, Sivasagar District; Jayanta Kumar Phukan, director of RESETI, Kundan Kumar, Manager of PNB Sivasagar Branch, Nirupam Dutta, Manager of Apex Bank, Sivasagar, Kaushik Das, manager of UCO Bank Sivasagar, Anirban Dutta, state head of Sa-Dhan; and Dr Suraj Jyoti Gogoi, district project manager of ASRLM Sivasagar.
The event was anchored by District Functional Expert Sushmita Kalindi and was attended by Lopa Mudra Gogoi, district head of Sa-Dhan; block project managers and block coordinators from five development blocks; members of various SHGs; and key stakeholders.
Simultaneously, the NPA Recovery Mela facilitated the repayment of overdue loans from six SHGs, thereby clearing their Non-Performing Assets (NPA) status.
