44th annual sabha of Catholic believers held

DONGKAMUKAM, Jan 19: The 44th Annual Sabha of Catholic believers of Satgaon Parish, West Karbi Anglong concluded on Sunday at Bhellapara.

On Saturday, Bishop of Diphu Paul Mattekat attended as chief guest and held holy mass before over five thousand believers.

Bishop in his sermon requested everyone to be firm in the faith for the 2nd coming of Christ was near.

Many sign and signals would be shown to us now and then, he said.

‘War, flood, fire, drought, storm, fight between the neighbours etc are such signs, Bishop said.

 He further said that wealth collected by us is of no use.

 So, come to Lord, he finally said.

 In the programme he blessed 96 confirmation takers.

 In the program Parish Priest of Gojapara near Goalpara Fr Lucas Marak, Sojong Parish Priest Fr Abraham Kannad, Satgaon Parish Priest Fr Albert Thyrniang,Fr Charles Sangma,Fr Justin Chinaparaj and several sisters were present.

 Earlier on the 2nd day Fr Jimbert Marak and Former MLA Francis Pondit Marak from Meghalaya visited the Sabha.

While on Sunday another 146 children from Parish recieved the first Holy Communion.
