Golaghat, Nov 16: A school teacher named Uday Changmai was shot in the leg by two unidentified assailants on motorcycles near Ram Mandir in the Latabari area of Bokakhat, Golaghat district on Thursday.

The culprits also robbed Changmai of his motorcycle and personal belongings before fleeing the scene.

The victim’s father, in a statement to the media, confirmed that his son was not involved in any illicit activities or disputes that could have led to the attack. He described Changmai as a peaceful individual.
The local residents rushed Changmai to the Swahid Kamala Miri Civil Hospital in Bokakhat for treatment. Bokakhat police have taken the victim’s statement and initiated an investigation into the incident.
