Bodo Sahitya Sabha To Observe Death Anniversary Of Subungthini Thandwi Bineswar Brahma

KOKRAJHAR, Aug 18: 
The Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) and Bineswar Brahma Charitable Trust (BBCT) will observe the 22nd death anniversary of former president of Bodo Sahitya Sabha and noted writer Subungthini Thandwi martyr Bineswar Brahma on Friday
at his burial place at Chandamari in Kokrajhar.
A massive preparation has been arranged for holding the death anniversary at Chandamari jointly by Bodo Sahitya Sabha and Bineswar Brahma Charitable Trust.
Notably, Subungthini Thandwi martyr Bineswar Brahma, was shot dead by an armed extremist at his Bhetapara residence in Guwahati on August 19, 2000 when he was the president of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha.
Brahma was a noted writer and zonal manager of FCI for north-eastern region and contributed a lot towards the Bodo literary and language upliftment in the state.
As per schedule of the programme, Bodo Sahitya Sabha president Toren Boro will hoist the sabha flag in the morning at 8:30 am followed by homage to martyr Bineswar Brahma by MLA of Kokrajhar East LAC, Lawrence Islary.
An open discussion on the contribution and life philosophy of Bineswar Brahma will be organised on the occasion at 10:30 am with Toren Boro, Bodo Sahitya Sabha president in the chair.
Bodoland Territorial Region chief executive member Pramod Boro, former general secretary of Bodo Sahitya Sabha Gabinda Basumatary will be attending as chief guest and guest speaker respectively in the event.
The Bodo Sahitya Sabha appeals to all sections of society to extend support and cooperation to make the event a grand success.
