Border area youth exchange programme concludes

GUWAHATI, Feb 17: The five-day border area youth exchange programme, organised by the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan concluded successfully in Guwahati on Monday.

The programme, which began on February 13, aimed to promote cultural exchange, unity, and brotherhood among the youth of Assam and other Northeastern states. The event was attended by 25 youth delegates from Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Tripura, as well as representatives from various ethnic groups in Assam.

The closing ceremony of the programme was attended by Dinabandhu Saha, state director of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan and Chayan Suklabaidya, district youth officer, Kamrup Metropolitan District.

During the programme, the delegates participated in various activities, including yoga sessions, field trips, cultural exchange programmes, and quizzes. They also visited various places in Guwahati, including the Kamakhya Temple, Balaji Temple, Parijat Society, Pamohi, Deepor Beel, Assam State Zoo, and the Don Bosco Church.

The valedictory function was attended by Saha, Suklabaidya, and Jiban Chandra Dole, accounts and programme supervisers. The delegates were awarded certificates of participation, and the organisers expressed gratitude to the participants, resource persons, and guests for making the program a success.

The programme was organised by the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Kamrup Metropolitan District, under the aegis of the Ministry of youth affairs and sports. The event was designed to promote national integration, brotherhood cultural exchange, and youth empowerment.
