Cachar to commemorate 54th anniversary of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha’s death

GUWAHATI, June 19:
 In sync with other regions of the state, a two-day commemoration event marking the 54th death anniversary of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha is being organised by the Cachar administration in seven constituencies of Cachar district, commencing on Monday.

The live telecast of chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s speech, honouring the 54th death anniversary of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha, will be displayed in the Silchar Zilla Parishad conference hall and the offices of various block development officers across the seven constituencies of Cachar district on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, educational institutions in the seven constituencies of Cachar district will pay tribute to Kalaguru through various activities in remembrance of his death anniversary.
To commemorate the occasion, Cachar DC Rohan Kumar Jha, along with Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty, flagged off the campaign from the district commissioner’s office on Monday. The event was attended by executive magistrate and cultural development officer Bidyashri Langthasa, along with other officials.

The campaign was conducted in ten areas of the seven constituencies of Cachar district on the day, and a similar campaign will be carried out in eight more block development areas on Tuesday, as mentioned in a press release issued by the Regional Office of Information & Public Relations, Barak Valley Zone, Silchar, Assam.
