DIPHU, Nov 4: A group of enthusiastic class 8 students from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Diphu, Karbi Anglong, recently embarked on a transformative journey into the world of technology. As part of the PM Schools for Rising India (PM SHRI) initiative, the students visited the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) in Dimapur to participate in an internship program focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).
This initiative, aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, aims to expose young minds to the latest technological advancements and inspire them to pursue careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields. During their visit, the students were introduced to the fascinating applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in various domains, including the textile industry and 3D printing.
Experts at NIELIT provided hands-on demonstrations, showcasing how AI and ML are revolutionising the way we live and work. The students were particularly intrigued by the potential of 3D printing technology, which has the power to transform manufacturing processes and create innovative designs.
By fostering a deep interest in STEM subjects, this internship program is equipping students with the necessary skills to thrive in the 21st century. It is a testament to the government’s commitment to providing quality education and preparing India’s youth for the future.
The PM SHRI scheme, approved by the PM Cabinet on September 7, 2022, aims to establish over 14,500 high-quality schools across the country. These schools will provide equitable, inclusive, and joyful learning environments, nurturing the holistic development of students. By empowering young minds and fostering a love for learning, PM SHRI schools are poised to shape the future of India.
