MANGALDAI, Feb 20: Assam Police has seized fake fertilizer and also apprehended a person in Jangalpara village in Darrang district.
The seizure was made during a raid in the said area on Wednesday night.

As per reports, local village defense battalion saw fake fertiliser being mixed with a substance like sand in one Sahara Ali’s house. The battalion Kharupetia police on the basis of suspicion.
Upon receiving the information, the police swung into action and reached the spot and seized the alleged fake fertilizer.
“One accused was taken into custody on the charge of making fake fertilizer,” the reports added.
Following the development in the area, the villagers gathered at the scene and demanded strict action against those making fake fertilizer.
However, after receiving the news of the police raid, Ali, who was allegedly involved in the making of fake fertilizer fled away.
Presently, the matter is under investigation and an officer from the Agriculture department officer has been called to ascertain the truth.
