MARGHERITA, Feb 20: A free health check-up camp was organised on Thursday jointly by the Northeastern Coalfields Coal India Ltd, Margherita and Warriors(NGO), Tinsukia as part of their corporate social responsibility initiative.
The free health camp was held at Durga bari temple premises, Ledo under Margherita Co-District to provide free health check-ups and medicines to over a hundred patients.
The Free health check-up was conducted by a team of doctors from NEC CIL Margherita including Dr Sanjib Sonowal, Dr Manab B Gogoi, Dr Dibya Singh, Dr Tul Tul K Sangma and Dr Manisha Upadhyay from Ketetong mobile unit tuberculosis screening test.
The free health check-up camp was a part of Prime Minister tuberculosis eradication programme where tuberculosis, diabetes and other diseases were tested and free medicines were provided accordingly.
Dr Divya Singh Borthakur, a noted ophthalmologist and Medical officer of NEC CIL, Margherita said that under the corporate social responsibility of NEC CIL, Margherita the free health check-up camp was attended by more than 100 people with different types of tests being conducted.
She further added that free medicines were being provided to the people and would continue for one year.
The camp has been a huge success, with over a hundred people benefiting from the free health services.
