HAFLONG, Jan 30: Aslam Khan, son of the Late. Yusuf Khan and a prominent senior citizen of Haflong, Dima Hasao, passed away on Thursday at 5 PM in a private hospital in Haflong. He was 69 years old.
Khan fell seriously ill earlier on Friday and was rushed to the hospital, where all efforts to revive him proved unsuccessful. A retired circle inspector under the NC Hills Autonomous Council, Khan was also a well-known sports enthusiast and an active contributor to various social organisations.

He is survived by his wife, son, and daughter. Known for his cheerfulness and helpful nature, Khan was deeply cherished by his friends and the citizens of Haflong. His passing has left a void in the community, with friends, neighbors, and loved ones gathering at his residence to express their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
The cremation ceremony took place on Friday itself at the Haflong crematorium, with full social honors.
