KOKRAJHAR, Feb 7: Former deputy chief of BTC Kampa Borgoyary is going to join UPPL party along with more than 400 supporters and well wishers on Saturday at a programme to be held at Thaikhajhora in Chirang.
Till date, five senior party leaders have tendered their resignation from the BPF party.
The joining will be done in the presence of UPPL president and CEM of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro, and senior party leaders.
Borgoyary represented the 14 No Chirang Duar constituency of Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly (BTCLA) for third consecutive terms since 2005 to 2020, and faced defeat in the BTC elections in 2020.
He took charge as deputy chief in BTC government under the leadership of Hagrama Mohilary,and held in-charge of various departments like forest, tourism, education departments among others.
He contested the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections on the BPF ticket in Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency, and faced severe defeat in the hands of UPPL candidate, Joyanta Basumatary.
Currently, he has been holding position of vice president and spokesperson of the BPF party.
