Kargil Vijay Divas commemorated with reverence in Balipara

BISWANATH CHARIALI, July 26: On the solemn occasion of Kargil Vijay Divas, observed on July 26 every year to honor the victory of the Kargil War, the 44 Gorkha Regiment organised a special event at Khelmati Adabari ME School premises, near Balipara on Wednesday. The day was marked with various activities to pay homage and respect to the brave war heroes and celebrate their triumph.

Major VS Rathor of the 44 Gorkha Regiment, in a heartfelt address, recounted the valor and sacrifices of the Indian soldiers during the historic Kargil War of 1999. He highlighted their unwavering bravery and dedication to securing victory for the nation. Paying rich tributes to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the country, Major Rathor urged the youth to actively contribute to the process of nation-building.

As a part of the commemoration, a poignant documentary was screened, capturing the essence of the Kargil War and its significance in the annals of India’s military history. The event witnessed the presence of Subhash Boishya, Khagen Tamuli, Rosy Tamuli, the Village Headman, the Women Brigade of GR, and the local public, who joined together to honor and remember the heroes of the Kargil War.

The Kargil Vijay Divas ceremony at Balipara was held with great enthusiasm and reverence, reflecting the nation’s gratitude towards its brave soldiers and their indomitable spirit in protecting the nation’s sovereignty and security.
