Tezpur, Nov 27: APART, Sonitpur District Agriculture Department and IRRI, OPIU (Operational Project Implementation Unit) – AGRI, Guwahati on Saturday introduced Mini Combine Harvester at Saikia Chuburi Barjhar village.
Attending the event MLA Tezpur Constituency Prithiraj Rava encouraged the farmers to take advantage of the latest technology introduced in the agricultural sector by harvesting paddy in the fields of the farmers through Mini Combined Harvester. The program was moderated by District Agricultural officer Pankaj Saikia and IRRI expert Vivek Kumar explained in detail how farmers would benefit from Mini Combine Harvester. Officially it was revealed that the Government has provided the combine harvester to the farmers at subsidised price and it would start a revolution in the agricultural sector. He also suggested cultivating different crops according to the seasons on the same land.
More than 200 farmers alongwith dignitaries who attended the program were District Agricultural officer Pankaj Saikia, District Development commissioner Utpal Bora, KVK expert Moonmon Basumatary, ICCOA officer Kishore Barua, SDO Pranjal Sharma and several officers of Agriculture Department.
