Golaghat, Feb 23: Jayanta Madhab Dutta’s debut film “Yakashik Omede” ( Yakashi’s daughter), a Mising film has been selected in the “Unsung Incredible India” section at the 16th edition of Bengaluru International film festival to be held from March 1 to 8.
The film was earlier selected at the “21st Third Eye Asian International film festival 2025” in the “Asian spectrum” section and received high appreciation from the audience, said the director of the film.
The film revolves round the theme of child marriage, discord and disharmony among the generations of a marginalised tribal society of Assam.
The film is produced by eminent business man Rajeswar Saikia under the banner of Kaziranga Pictures. The sound of the film is designed by the renowned sound designer of the Mumbai Film Industry Amrit Pritam and Debajit Changmai who are co-Producers of the film as well.
Colour grading is done by Sujit Borah, an eminent colour grader of Mumbai. Music is composed by Amrit Pritam and Bhagabat Pritam. Hiranya Pegu, Saurav Saikia, Jatindr Saikia, Amar Phukan served as assistant directors. The camera of the film is managed aesthetically by Saurav Saikia as DOP, assisted by Sasungka Saikia and edited by Bikash Baruah.
The director of the film who will present as key person of the 2nd Assam International Rural film festival to be held from March 14 to 16 at Dholi in Titabor is happy about the selection of the film in this category.
“It has been crafted with almost a new and inexperienced team of acting, editing, direction and camera. I still feel we have miles to go to achieve more. It would also encourage the upcoming regional films,” the director said.
