HAFLONG, April 24: The polling officials including zonal magistrates, sector officials, presiding officials and police officials made a movement to their respective assigned polling duties in district on Wednesday.
The transit of the officials to 86 polling stations (PS) took place on Wednesday. Altogether there are 254 polling stations under Haflong (ST) of which the remaining officials for 168 polling stations will move on April 25.
Dima Hasao will go to polls in the second phase for Lok Sabha elections under the Diphu (ST) Lok Sabha constituency in Haflong (ST) Legislative Assembly constiuency on April 26 from 7am to 5 pm.
1, 55,259 voters which include 77,327 males and 77,932 females will exercise franchise across 254 polling stations. 15 among them are all women polling stations where the civil as well as police officials are women with an objective to encourage voting among female voters. There are three model polling stations in Haflong town that have all the amenities.
