NTPC Bongaigaon distributes mosquito nets to combat malaria

KOKRAJHAR, Dec 3: In a heartfelt effort to combat the recent surge in malaria cases in the Kokrajhar district, NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, in association with Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, distributed 100 mosquito nets to underprivileged families.

The initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, reaffirming NTPC’s commitment to community welfare. 

Sangeeta Singh, president of Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, and Soumya Kar, vice president, along with the club’s office bearers, led the distribution drive. The mosquito nets were distributed in partnership with the Salakati Anchalik Senior Citizen Mancha, ensuring the support reached those in need. 

The coordination of the initiative was facilitated by Roshan Dungdung, DGM (HR); Madhurjya Singha Lahkar, DGM (Corporate Communication), NTPC Bongaigaon; Pranami Handique, senior manager (HR); and Aduity Thakuri, executive (CSR), in collaboration with local stakeholders. 

Speaking on the occasion, Sangeeta Singh expressed gratitude to all involved in making the initiative a success, stating, “This distribution is a small yet meaningful step to protect vulnerable communities from malaria. We hope it contributes to a safer and healthier environment.”
