NTPC Bongaigaon celebrates Annual Day with cultural Fervour

KOKRAJHAR, May 20: Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, in collaboration with Bal Bhawan, NTPC Bongaigaon, Salakati, celebrated its Annual Day with great enthusiasm and cultural vibrancy on Tuesday at the township premises in Kokrajhar. Themed ऋतु का त्योहार (Festival of Seasons), the event was a colorful celebration of India’s diverse seasonal traditions, blending art with community engagement.

The event was graced by Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon, as the Chief Guest. Also present were Kasturi Maitra, President of Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club; Debabrata Kar, GM (O&M); Soumya Kar, Vice President of the Club; along with other departmental heads, employees, and their families.

Organised by Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club and supported by NTPC’s women employees, the celebration began with traditional welcome rituals and interactive games. The evening’s performances captivated the audience, including a touching tribute to Lata Mangeshkar, a captivating “Krishna Lila,” and a reflective children’s presentation on Pancha Tatwa — the five elements of nature.

In her welcome address, Kasturi Maitra emphasized the Club’s inclusive ethos and its focus on fostering harmony, creativity, and wellness within the NTPC community. Treasurer Smt. Amrita Singh presented the Annual Report, outlining the year’s key welfare initiatives, skill-building programmes, and outreach efforts.

A major highlight of the event was the thematic segment ऋतु का त्योहार, which brought the essence of Indian seasons to life through music, storytelling, and visual artistry.

In his keynote address, Arnab Maitra praised the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club for its evolving role as a catalyst for positive social change. He commended the Club’s initiatives in women’s empowerment, education, health awareness, and its broader impact on the community. “Such platforms go beyond cultural expression—they reflect the social conscience of NTPC Bongaigaon,” he remarked, encouraging continued collaboration between employees and their families.

The evening concluded with prize distribution and a heartfelt vote of thanks, leaving the audience inspired and united. The celebration reaffirmed the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club’s mission of blending culture with cause and highlighted its growing contribution to NTPC’s vision of inclusive and sustainable development.
