Last year, the Committee incurred a loss of over Rs 19 lakh as most vendors refused to accept the stalls due to high rates administered through lottery bidding. As a result, a large number of stalls remained unoccupied. The secretary said that the rates have been fixed at low price so that everyone can rent one. He expressed hope that the Sivasagar District Administration would help in the smooth functioning of the mela.
