Two-day engineering workshop commences in Nagaon

NAGAON, Sept 2: The District Disaster Management Authority, Nagaon, in collaboration with the Assam State Disaster Management Authority, organised a two-day workshop for engineers on rapid visual screening of masonry buildings at Lions Club, Nagaon, starting on Monday.

The program was inaugurated by Phyllis VL Hmunsiami Hrangchal, additional district commissioner and CEO, DDMA, Nagaon.

The sessions were conducted by resource persons including Bhargav Sarmah (AE), PWD Kaliabor and Barhampur (T) Building Division; Gitartha Kalita (AE), PWD Kaliabor and Barhampur (T) Building Division; Afzalur Rahman (AE), PWD Nagaon (T) Building Division, Nagaon; Bhashamita Ramchiary (AE), PWD Nagaon (T) Building Division, Nagaon; and Aninnita Deka (JE), P&RD, Nagaon.

Over 27 engineers from various departments such as P&RD, PWD Building, Health Department, SSA, and Municipal Boards participated in the program, according to an official press note.
